Yesterday the sun was shining and Spring felt like it was Springing so I abandoned the laundry and cleaning and set off for The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
It had been years since I’d visited so I felt I deserved a treat. I took our little rescue dog Angelo with me and we spent a good three hours exploring the jungle and then the beautifully restored walled gardens. Finished off with a cream tea in the very nice cafe.
Rhododendrons were looking spectacular as were Magnolias. Things seem a little later this year what with the very long hard winter we have had. The garden and story behind it’s restoration were as magical as I had remembered and I promised myself I wouldn’t leave it so long before returning! The Lost Gardens of Heligan are only a 20 minute drive from Spring Cottage B&B.
